Rhythms of Sacred Devotion. Premium Cotton • 16” (H) x 24” (W) x 5” (D).
This artwork is inspired by the sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy and the timeless grandeur of the Kandy Esala Perahera. This draws from a sacred Sri Lankan ritual where devotion moves through the night to honor the Sacred Tooth Relic of Sri Dalada Maligawa.
Firelight cuts through darkness as drums set ancient rhythms. Dancers move in ceremonial flow, horns echo through the streets, and a caparisoned elephant advances as a guardian — carrying faith, power, and protection. The procession becomes a passage, where devotion and ritual align.
Perahera is a mystical journey of belief — where light guides the path, rhythm becomes prayer, and tradition moves forward in time.
